Aims & Scope

Comprehending the Earth's long history and anticipating the consequences of its accelerating transformation have never been more urgent. Human activity now reshapes the atmosphere, reshuffles the hydrological cycle, alters land cover and sediment regimes, and reaches into the deep subsurface — demanding a research literature equal to the complexity of those changes.

Advanced Geoscience Research Letters (AGRL) is a monthly, fully open-access, multi-disciplinary journal committed to publishing significant original research across the entire breadth of the Earth and planetary sciences, alongside authoritative review and opinion content. The journal embraces contributions based on field observation, laboratory experiment, numerical modelling, remote sensing, and theoretical analysis — or any combination thereof. AGRL is equally receptive to work addressing regional phenomena and studies of global significance; both scales of enquiry are essential for a complete understanding of a dynamic planet.

All editorial decisions are made by a dedicated team of professional editors with active research backgrounds in the geosciences. Peer review is managed rigorously and with respect for authors' time, targeting a first decision within 30 days of submission for all manuscripts sent out for external review.
