Reviews Cross-Journal Editorial Team

The Reviews Cross-Journal Editorial Team at Nexus Research Press is responsible for commissioning, handling, and quality-assuring Review Articles, Research Briefings, and invited synthesis content published in Advanced Geoscience Research Letters and other NRP journals.

What the team handles

  • Review Articles — authoritative, balanced surveys of recent developments in a geoscience research field, written for a broad scientific audience
  • Research Briefings — concise, accessible lay summaries of published AGRL research articles, commissioned from authors upon acceptance
  • Invited Perspectives — scholarly viewpoint articles commissioned from leading researchers on topics of timeliness and broad significance
  • Focus collection introductions — editorial overviews accompanying thematic collections

Commissioning process

Most Review Articles and invited Perspectives in AGRL are commissioned directly by the Reviews Cross-Journal Editorial Team in consultation with the in-house editorial team. Researchers who wish to propose a Review or Perspective are welcome to submit a presubmission enquiry outlining the proposed topic, rationale, proposed authors, and a brief outline of structure. Proposals are evaluated on the basis of timeliness, scope, the absence of undue overlap with recently published reviews, and the suitability of the proposed authors.

Unsolicited Review manuscripts may be submitted through the standard manuscript submission portal, but authors are strongly encouraged to make a presubmission enquiry before preparing a full manuscript.
