The Research Cross-Journal Editorial Team at Nexus Research Press supports Advanced Geoscience Research Letters and other NRP-branded research journals by handling primary research manuscripts in specialist topic areas. Team members hold doctoral qualifications and work closely with the AGRL editorial office to ensure consistent, high-quality peer-review management.
Members of the Research Cross-Journal Editorial Team may handle manuscripts submitted to AGRL in their specialist areas, conduct initial assessment, identify appropriate reviewers, and make recommendations to the Chief or Senior Editor responsible for the final decision. They participate fully in the editorial process and uphold the same standards of rigour and independence as in-house editors.
Where a manuscript submitted to AGRL is adjudged to be of outstanding quality but broader disciplinary scope than the journal's primary geoscience focus — for example, work of strong relevance to environmental engineering, ecology, or interdisciplinary sustainability science — the Research Cross-Journal Editorial Team coordinates potential transfer to a more suitable NRP journal, with the authors' consent. This process is designed to maximise the visibility and impact of submitted work rather than to redirect it without good cause.
Authors who receive a transfer recommendation retain full priority dating to their original AGRL submission. Transfer requires explicit author agreement and involves no additional submission fee.
